 Laser Technology Inc.

Laser Technology Inc.’s LTI 20/20 TruSpeed is a laser speed gun designed to offer laser accuracy and reliability at a price within reach of almost any department’s budget. The TruSpeed offers speed accuracy of +/- 1 mph and a range of 2,000 feet. Its proprietary Accuracy Validation Process automatically verifies the accuracy of each measurement before it displays for courtroom credibility.

The TruSpeed also features a weather mode; simple operation with dedicated function keys; and a quick self-check that validates proper internal functionality for operator confidence. It stands up against radar detectors and laser detectors because by the time they recognize the TruSpeed’s signal, a speed reading has already been obtained. In addition, the TruSpeed contains advanced circuitry and algorithms that allow it to determine if a laser jammer is being used by displaying a warning code on the rear LCD.

PIPS Technology

PIPS Technology’s Back Office System Server (BOSS®) is designed to enable law enforcement agencies to organize and archive data collected from multiple mobile and fixed site automated license plate recognition (ALPR) deployments. The BOSS provides a central repository for all captured license plate data as well as the tools to support data analysis, data queries and reporting (inter- or intra-agency).

BOSS also includes user and database management. The user administration functions allow the administrator to set different system access levels based on user responsibility. BOSS is used to import, update and create databases. Within BOSS, users can query the data against multiple search parameters including time, date, full or partial plate, location and user. BOSS can also map all locations related to a single plate to track vehicle movements. The BOSS Web interface allows data to be easily shared across multiple locations and agencies.

Raytheon JPS Communications

Raytheon Co.’s JPS Communications has partnered with Votan Research Corp. to globally market a digital in-car video system specifically designed for law enforcement and security personnel. With the DVU-1000, every incident can be recorded and replayed in broadcast quality, automatically transferred wirelessly, and stored with management software. The new DVU-1000 provides automatic uploading of all video, audio and metadata from each vehicle into a secure wireless server that prevents any human physical contact with evidence recorded within the vehicle.

The DVU-1000 offers the following: fastest video upload speed in the industry; D1 video standard for greater resolution; embedding of metadata synchronized with video and audio; police manager supervisory tool; plus automatic updates so administrators do not have to take cars out of service for updates. The unit is completely digital and contains no moving parts. It is designed to operate under extreme temperatures. System components include: front-view digital camera; rear-view digital camera; paladin unit; T-Cam module; mobile wireless microphones.

StacoSwitch

The M901 Keyboard is the newest addition to StacoSwitch’s law enforcement line of rugged keyboards and keyboard accessories. It features splash-proof water sealing, turquoise backlighting for night-time visibility, a highly sensitive integrated touchpad, and full-travel keys. The touchpad feature, similar to laptops, was built into the keyboard design to control a PC without an external mouse in limited-space areas such as vehicles. The keyboard is also hot-swappable, so it can be plugged in or unplugged at anytime without rebooting.

The high-quality, impact-resistant polycarbonate material of the M901 offers environmental protection while providing a familiar and comfortable feel commonly found in traditional keyboards. Each key is constructed to limit and minimize variations in key top height, key top alignment and key rotational alignment. The M901 is prepared to withstand and operate in almost any extreme environment after passing extensive temperature, humidity, shock, vibration and flammability testing.

T3 Motion Inc.

The T3 from T3 Motion Inc. is a personal mobility vehicle designed for public safety, university, airport, municipal and government applications. The newest option for the T3 is automated license plate recognition (ALPR) from PIPS Technology. The ALPR option will enable officers to scan thousands of license plates as they ride on the T3, checking each plate against databases of stolen vehicles, wanted felons, Amber Alerts and more.

Dual-lens camera with integrated infrared LED illumination provides an infrared image of the license plate for optical character recognition and a color image of the vehicle for context and evidentiary purposes. Camera is compact and sealed to IP67 standards, with an easy-to-use and intuitive graphical interface. The officer is able to focus on the environment, rather than on a license plate or his keyboard. The system sees all vehicles regardless of the driver or the condition of the vehicle, eliminating profiling.

Tiburon Inc.

MobileCom is a new mobile data system developed by CompuDyne’s Tiburon Inc. subsidiary. Tiburon MobileCOM allows first responders to send and receive dispatch information, state and national database queries, and location mapping data. When used with Global Position Satellite (GPS) technology, police officers, firefighters, EMS and other field personnel can easily locate the emergency call on the map in the vehicle, and then allow Tiburon MobileCOM to determine the shortest route to the destination.

A unique capability of Tiburon MobileCOM is the “follow me” feature, which dynamically updates the map on the video monitor in the vehicle as the software tracks the direction of travel. In addition, Tiburon MobileCOM can “reverse geocode” the location, eliminating the need to enter specific address information during officer-initiated events, such as a routine traffic stop. Tiburon MobileCOM also supports voice-to-text and text-to-voice translation. Built on Microsoft’s .NET Framework software, Tiburon MobileCOM uses XML standards for data transmission and provides increased flexibility in data sharing and interoperability between agencies.

TriTech Software Systems

By leveraging true .NET Framework within n-Tier Architecture, TriTech’s VisiNet Law Records Management System offers customization and flexible workflow designs to the record level. Its “plug-and-play” technology supports effortless integration with third-party solutions (databases, applications and networks) in multi-vendor environments and reduces downtime for enhancements, upgrades and new product installations. Its feature-set helps law enforcement agencies improve their security, interoperability and reporting capabilities with real-time access to mission-critical data.

Advanced features include: ESRI-based PIN mapping on different types of activities for authorized users; searching functionality provides the user with a multitude of search options similar to ad-hoc reporting features; numerous canned reports to meet the agency’s unique needs; security features that provide authorized users the ability to hide individual records for confidentiality purposes; enhanced data compression and encryption for speed and security; advanced name matching (based on cross-lingual multi-key metaphone parameters) for heightened identification procedures to conform to homeland security standards; and automatic error notification to TriTech Support.

Whelen

Whelen’s new Universal LED Hideaway™ is ideal in the headlight and taillight assemblies of emergency vehicles. The Hideaway requires only a tiny ¾-inch hole in any composite style headlight, cornering light or taillight assembly (uses the same footprint as the HA238). Small size means mounting versatility in almost any vehicle. The new high-intensity LED light source provides omni-directional light that fills the reflector and delivers true wide angle warning to the front and rear of a vehicle.

Other features of the Hideaway include multiple scan-lock pattern selection; die-cast aluminum; backward compatible and standard 1-inch Hideaway-style lights; fully encapsulated; and six-position waterproof connectors, standard. They are available in red, amber, green, white and blue.
