Marketing Director

Primary Objectives of the Position
This position is responsible for planning, developing and executing marketing programs, campaigns, events, and collateral to promote the company and meet sales objectives. This individual will work in conjunction with other members of the marketing and product management department in a detail-oriented, organized fashion. The ability to juggle multiple projects and activities and thrive in a fast-paced environment is required.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Management of the marketing organization’s personnel, including but not limited to: leadership, training plans, performance management, staffing requirements, counseling and mentoring of staff.
- Responsible for planning and carrying out effective strategies for execution of marketing campaigns, including working with other members of marketing department and third party vendors.
- Responsible for annual User Group conference.
- Writes and edits sales/marketing collateral and corporate communications, corporate brochures, press releases, direct mail pieces, trade journal contributions and articles, and advertisement copy.
- Responsible for overseeing third-party design and production of collateral and promotional material.
- Directs and controls quality of graphics, photography, text, and other elements that have an impact on corporate image.
- Develops, implements, and enforces corporate identification standards. Ensures that the company brand and corporate quality standards are met throughout the organization.
- Coordinates content for website and newsletter updates.
- Assists in coordination and execution of client events.
- Jointly develops and executes product and third party product marketing programs with internal product managers and external partners.
- Meets with appropriate sales and/or marketing representatives to discuss communications needs and participates as a member of sales/marketing planning teams.
- Interact with all Groups (Product Management, Sales, Finance, etc.) within Tiburon in support of the company and organization’s objectives.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- 10-15 years of direct experience in a broad range of marketing operations.
- 7 years of experience in supervisory role.
- Previous experience in marketing, sales, project management or account management.
- Excellent PR skills and experience.
- Knowledge of viral marketing techniques & Internet marketing.
- Knowledge of software products and services and how they are positioned, priced, marketed and sold in the public safety and justice marketplace.
- Strong customer relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Proven ability to be self motivated and self directed.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior skills working with software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to 35%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct marketing experience in public safety and Justice

- Exposure to CRT is frequent; on a daily basis.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- During periods of travel this position may require additional lifting and carrying of equipment up to fifty pounds in weight. Aircraft and automobile traveling for extended periods of time.
- This position may require long hours and weekend work.
